tWiNs oN tHe LaNd...

Yep, my sister Edna and Paulo came to visit with the twins, Nelson and Joshua, and the proud sister Pamela...
It was such a nice time...and the babies are getting more and more beautiful...of course !!!
They came twice and the second time they brought my cousins from Castelo Branco, Nela and her daugther Ana...sorry, I didn't take pictures :-/... it was nice coz they could stay for the opening of our 24-7 prayer week... we had a nice time sharing the Bread and Wine around the fire place...remembering the body and the blood Jesus offered in our behalf...
Thank you Jesus for forgiving all of our failures and welcoming us all into your family...Thanks for settings us free, and for accepting us just the way we are...
Your Love is amazing and I guess never fully understood by our human minds and hearts... I'd like to grasp it more ...

wow, more and more people start to arrive... Anne and Jonathan from Germany are on their way now, and also Lucy and another one I forgot the name now, they come from UK...Emma is also somewhere around Barcelone and will get here hopefully soon...Lyna and Cami already arrived from France and we already had a fun night yesterday around the fire together with Judith and Simone, and of course Anne who's still here till September...
It's so nice to have "da famaly" back together...most of these I already have a deep connection for previous trips and gatherings for the past 2 years...
But anyway, I just want to let everyone now about the directions to come to the land, coz it's getting almost impossible to walk back and forth to the train station to get people :-)

So, for all those who will be coming in the future, keep this post in your favourits :-)

If you come BY TRAIN, you have to leave in CASTELO NOVO, this is between "Castelo Branco" and "Fundao" or "Covilha"...
coming out of the train you go to your right and start walking...you will cross the car road and you should keep walking beside the rail track on the right side...soon you'll see a sign hanged on a tree saying "Mount of Oaks" (red letters on a black flat stone)... you keep walking...after maybe 10 minutes you will see another sign on your right, both in portuguese and english, turn there...
a bit ahead you will find another sign next to some stone houses for you to keep going on the road....you'll be almost there, but you still have maybe 10 minutes to the next sign...this will point to your right and right after you will see another one pointing left...you go through some tiny pine forest till you get to a fence...you will see the signs pointing right, but you have to cross the fence...you have to lift one of the ends and please, live it closed the way it was...
so, then you just need to follow the fence till you get to the land, you will see from afar the water barels that stand on a little tower, and once you see our big pond go down to the house to your left...
Easy, ne ?!!!

If you come by CAR, you have to get the high way A23, between "Guarda" and "Entroncamento", and you leave on the exit "CASTELO NOVO" (but you don't go to Castelo Novo, we are on the oposite side), follow the directions to "ALPEDRINHA" and you will eventually turn left, entering on a national road, the N18, towards "Alpedrinha"... you don't drive much there, and you will see a sign next to an old house with "MONT OF OAKS" and "MONTE DOS CARVALHOS" (we'll put that one soon)...
you will enter a country side dirt road full of wholes :-) and you keep going... you'll pass the rail tracks, PLEASE DO STOP AND LOOK, and you keep going...then you will find different signs on your way , but if you have doubts the turns are always to your right... The last turn is almost a "turning back", so , be aware so you don't miss it :-)... then you'll go down hill and up hill (to the left side), and you're in the land already...

WELCOME HOME !!!!

O.k, I hope now it's clear :)

If you get lost, don't stress out, maybe it's part of your journey...you might meet someone on the road, maybe on a donkey cart, who will lead you on the way :-)

PEACE to ALL...

here Whitney and Anne, who helped me to make and put up some signs:-) Thank you girls :-)

And we're also making some signs on the land :-) Just in case you are in an emergency and you're ashamed to ask where you can shit :-) eh, eh...

24-7 pRaYeR cAmp @ mOuNt oF oAkS

we're gonna have a 24 hour week of prayer at the Mount of Oaks...
we'll not have a room to pray , but we'll have a nice place in one of our little forests...Anne, Oona, Whitney, Lopes, Silvia and Joel are some of those who have been helping to make the forest a nice cozy place for us to meet God around the clock for one week...
It will happen from the 22 to the 29th, this month...well, next week...from wednesday to wednesday...
we'll have a shelter for coorporate times of worship and we'll have some discussion groups under some trees about prayer...
I'll ask your prayers for this... I know it's too on time, but I haven't been having much time to organize things...
Anyway...we just need to provide the place for people to pray...

there are some portuguese young people coming and everyone will come ready to camp and seek God...
we'll also serve the village in different ways, like visiting some old people in a day centre or at their homes... we might make a party for the young people in the "Club", but we'll see how things go :-)

IF YOU ARE AROUND...COME !!!
IF YOU'RE NOT, JOIN US IN PRAYER !!!
I feel we'll not be too many, but it's just a first step to make this place "a safe place to pray for this nation"... that's what I felt God telling me when we were about to buy this land... I'm noty totally sure of what He meant by that, but I do feel he wants to meet people here...and He wants to lead people here to pray ...
TEACH US GOD !!!!
AWAKE US HOLY SPIRIT !!!!

Sorry for not taking much time to post, but we've been kinda busy here with some more visits...
I'm not being good with taking pictures of all as well, but anyway...
Oona left some days ago, but before she left, Sanne from Germany came to stay some days with us... I didn't know her before, but it was really nice to meet her...
During the weekend we had Joana again with 2 young guys who will play on a portuguese movie...Joana is "training" them to surf and showing them the surf culture and they came to see the community coz one of the characters will leave the surf competition world to join a community where he will get transformed... well, they were not so relaxed among all the others, so I don't know if they got much of it...and they only stayed for 2 days when we had a lot of visits over...
On the same weekend a group of young people from Castelo Branco also came to spend some nights...
And the Hurst's 's just arrived from an overland trip all the way from Italy...it was not an easy entrance...some kilometers before the border, still in Spain, the car broke and they had to have it fixed... finally they got it done and arrived in the middle of the night, around 3am at our land in the Mount of Oaks...
It was really cool to have them, even if just for one night and one day...but Whitney stayed and will only leave on friday to Lisbon...
The Hurst's were in Italy for the last 22 years, and they just felt moved by God to come to Portugal... they were the ones who were behind the festival Rock on The Rock which is already running for 5 years in Italy...check the web sites if you wanna know more ...

They left Marina in our lake :-) ....so cool !!!Our new member of the community :-)
The last 2 days we also got some girls from a YWAM base from Scotland and 2 others brazillian girls who are at the base here in Portugal...

Pfiiiiiu... O.K, just came to Castelo Branco to do some shopping and gotta go back soon...
but visits keep coming... Simone and Judith from Germany will arrive tomorrow...Lyna who we met in Israel/Palestine last year is on her way with some friends from France... and Emma, Lucy and other friend are also on their way from UK...
Oh, and Juran will also come next week or so...
And I guess more will come, but never sure:-)
Everyone is welcome anyway !!!!

So, we're never alone here :-) It's so cool to have so many different people and so many friends around... :-)

O.K, gotta go now...

We just had a really nice weekend with some nice surprising visits...
Jasmin, Carly, Carie and Joana just came for the weekend...it was such a nice surprise !!!
It was cool to update the news with Jasmin after her tour in Europe with Triplet ... and also to see Carlie after her time with the Borden 's in Tanzania... even though the time was not enough to hear all the cool stories:-/ ...
It was cool to have Carrie (Carlie's mom) here as well... I knew she would love it here... and they also came with Joana, a surfer friend from Lisbon... she'll be back here soon :-)

Another surprise was having Juran for the weekend as well... he needed to see some trees, he said :-) ... he is in Porto since January learning with Paulo, my brother in law, how to make tatoos...

here's Oona reading us a story...she's also Juran's friend and she's here for a week already I guess...she came last week with her friend Sarah who stayed just for a couple of days...

and here's Juran , delighted to hear the story as relaxed as possible :-)
