MiScHu'S sUrGeRy wEnT FinE...

just to let you know that Mischu's surgery went fine...I took her early on tuesday to Castelo Branco after spending all monday fasting...she thought it was just a bad idea that I locked her in the kitchen all day... poor one, she wouldn't even guess what was awaiting for her... and I was so sorry for her...after a traumatising surgery (not because it went wrong), she had to spend one more day fasting, cuz she couldn't eat for the next 12 hours after the surgery...here in this picture it's her first time out of the kitchen to get some sun and do some pee... she couldn't get cold as well, so I wrapped her in lots of layers of blankets and let the fire on...
But I couldn't just leave her alone on that situation and she could need something in the middle of the night...
so I moved in the kitchen with her and she slept with me under my sleeping bag :-)
she did need me in the middle of the night...she was starving...so I had to feed her at 3 am... and she kept trying to walk around  even though she barely could stand on her feet...poor Mischu... I'm so sorry for her, but I still feel it needed to be done, otherwise she would spend all her life pregnant... and I also think 70 Euros is a bit too much for it... it should be for free ... Oh well, I hope she'll get totally fine and recovered...and I hope I'm doing the best for her...
another thing I don't particularly like is that I need to give her shots everyday :-(
, and I never did it before...it was scary!!! I hope not to do anything wrong...
In January I need to take Sambo, Duma and Pula too :-(

Hi Baba,

ooohh... I know how it feels. It is so heart-touching to see otherwise "souvereign" animals helpless and handicapped and vulnerable. I had Nemo neutered when he was old enough, too.

Believe me, it is better for the cats. Or, maybe not for them themselves, but for the prevention of legions of kittens - who would suffer from the indifference of the people because at some point they would be far too numerous to be regarded as individuals. After all, there may be shepherds looking after great numbers of sheep, but there aren't any "cat-herds", are there ;-) !!

All best for you and Mischu!

Anja from Germany

P.S. about the 70 Euro... just think about the responsibility, the knowledge and the years of study the vet should be able to claim before they are allowed to do such a complex surgery... it's not exactly baking a cake, that.

zlkvdbThanks Anja...
about the vets, I do appreciate their work and actually I loved the one I went to...but I mean that we could have options, like a vet from the city hall that could be cheaper, or for free...

Anyway, it doesn't matter...it's just money... I'm more concerned about Mischu than about that...
I feel miserable today cuz I had to give this shots and Mischu doesn't like it at all... I wonder if I'm doing anything wrong or if it's just for the pain :-(
I even cried next to her today and prayed and asked her forgiveness... I do hope I'm doing what is best for her, but it still feels weird...
Thanks for your words...
bless you and Neemo
