mOrE oN tHe cOngReSs...

I'm sorry, but I'll have to write some more on this subject, 'coz I got some different reactions about my comments...
First I just wanna ask forgiveness if I hurt anyone with my words...
then I just want to say that those were my feelings and impressions...not a state...
And I wanna thank a friend who made me see the positive aspects of this Congress, like being the first time in Portugal where young people from different denominations were together with no barriers...well, I have to say that there are other examples...like those guys in Porto that I mention in one of my latest posts...and other gatherings, like "King's Kids" Camps for instance...
I guess those were the kind of people I was expecting to see at this conference, I was expecting those who were already ready to give their lives for the cause...
But what I found was that most of them never even heard about missions (as my friend wrote me as well)...
So, if that was the purpose, it's ok...it was good for those...
yes, we need to awake many young people in the church who never heard about basic things as "to go and make disciples of every people group"...
But if some people get satisfied with this, then it also made me think that PORTUGUESE ARE FAR TO IMAGINE WHAT GOD HAS FOR THIS NATION AND FOR THIS GENERATION...
I wrote my frustrations, 'coz I want more...and I know that God has so much more for us...
I wanna see our Nation on our knees...praying...repenting...being humble...claiming to the only One who can rescue us and take us to the purpose we were created...
Starting in myself...

O.k., I hope I got more clear..if not, keep sending your comments...we should speak more about this things...and be honest with eachother...
I don't want my critics to be destructive, but constructive...
sorry if I sounded different...but written words on a blog can say more, or less, then we are really saying...

PEACE...
"In essentials
UNITY,
In non essentials,
RESPECT,
In all things,
LOVE"

It is awesome to see how all of the parts of the body work together. You know, when the people of God come together with the vision of seeing their lives lined up with the ways of God---awesome things tend to happen. Kings will dance through the streets with a reckless abandon, prostitutes will say I am clean, lame will walk, this nation will repent. Continue to be that voice crying out! I am convinced, now more than ever, that it takes all of it. It is the traditional church doing what they do---it is the emergent gathering expressing community in a new, or sometimes old, way. It is meetings at the café---yes, it is also youth from all denominations coming together. I agree that it can't stop there. Coming together is a great start though! We still haven't connected...I would love to have coffee with you sometime!
