tO bLoG oR NoT tO bLoG... ThaT iS mY qUeStiOn...

It´s been a while since I last posted here... (I should count how many times I started a post this way, eh, eh)
When I first started with this blog it was basically a matter of being practical, as I was traveling and it was the easiest way to share my journey with those who wanted to accompany me along The Way... Then, when I came to The Mount of Oaks, it became a weekly reflection for myself, and again, to share what was going on here with all those who were interested to know or those who passed by ...
Then I started a blog just for the Mount of Oaks, because I felt and still feel that the Mount of Oaks is not about me and I wanted to make that a bit more clearer... This blog became then for more personal sharing... reflections, thoughts, processing the week or season that passed, etc...
Now, I´m not so sure if people read blogs so much...
Facebook seems to be the way people communicate these days... well, definitely a different kind of communication... I´m sure nobody would read my loooong posts on Facebook...I have to confess that I resisted Facebook for a long time, until I realized that that would be the best and easiest way to "communicate" (even though superficially) with friends and family, and also to share about what´s going on at the Mount of Oaks, including sharing about the courses we run... I still didn´t want to have a personal Facebook page, sharing my personal e.mail , etc... so for now it´s working well, and to be honest, with the little time I have online (whether because I´m tired or my computer´s battery is low), it´s much easier and faster to upload pictures on Facebook and put a little comment then to post on the blog. If you do use Facebook , feel free to check news here.
It´s more about that isn´t it? checking news and keeping in touch... that is important...my parents live in Angola, and because my father is as rubbish as me on the telephone, we get to catch up much easier now...

I will keep writing on this blog, when I manage to have some quality time for that... because I now write mainly to process my own thoughts, reflections, meditations, or personal experiences... well, I do like writing...the problem is using the computer and typing :-)
I´ve been having some nice meditations lately and I wish I had the time to type them... I think I will try to do it on my rest day at the weekend (like today), while I come to the "power house" to charge my computer. Now it´s not so cold to be seating here for a couple of hours, and it will be a nice thing to do to process my meditations.
I´m actually curious if anyone is still following up this blog (as I´ve been neglecting it so much, and as I said, I think not many people read blogs anymore).. and I´m also interested to know if any of these reflections that I will post will resonate with anyone else´s thoughts and questions...

I´ve been thinking a lot about our present age, the changing and exciting times we are living, which at the same time, are not new, as we know "there is nothing new under the sun"... we´re maybe spiraling and coming back to circumstances others were before... one of my questions is "what can we learn from the ones who came before us?"...
I feel I´m living in exile for some good years now...like in a desert...but a good thing...and I like it because I´m able to see thing with a different perspective, as if stepping back and watch , yet at the same time, being part of the scene ... Does that make sense ?

Anyway, I´d like to "hear" what others are also thinking in terms of our present age...with all the economical situations, political changes, the environment changes, etc... what it´s been said among churches and other spiritual communities today? what kind of messages are people listening? what kind of Hope are people longing for? what is this "crisis" bringing up within people´s hearts and minds?

O.K, I think I will leave it for another post...

PEACE
Always

Great to have you back at the keys baba! Those fingers can't be used to writing so much in one go for a while! Keep reflecting, keep blogging. I didn't know you had stopped on your journey already!!

I'm with the Winters, keep blogging. Facebook is too superficial.

I really miss seeing you on GCE Barbara, and as I was thinking of you tonight, wondering how you are doing, remembering the lovely day we spent when we met, I decided to come and check here for any updates.

I hope you're doing well and you're happy. You are missed !

Lots of love and hugs to you both,

Alma

Hi Alma,

nice to hear from you... I´ve been thinking about you too and I do receive the e.mails about the meetings and so on... but to be honest we have been super super busy... we´re only going to Ireland now for 2 weeks because it´s one year since Emma´s dad died... otherwise we wouldn´t even consider traveling...
I would like to be more present at the web site as well, but without electricity it becomes hard even to keep up with my blogs and e.mails...
I also miss the connections and I will try to make an effort to at least visit the web site... you´re also more than welcome to come over, if you like nature and camping style holidays :-)...
Big hug, and please keep in touch...
again, if in any way we can support you let us know... we´re praying :-)
Much Love to you and all on GCE.

Hey! I do check out your blog every now and then and enjoy your thoughts. You are a wise one and I enjoy what you have to say on the things you mentioned like economy, politics, enviroment, technology etc. There is a great Swedish book title that translates to something like "From now on the way is without road" giving at hand that the rapid change is making for a time where we don't know where the way will lead us. There are no paved roads ahead. Listening to good people at a time like this is important to me!!!!

Tiny practical note: I do not like Facebook myself, so I still blog but I post links to relevant blog posts on Facebook ... with a summary and image maybe, so people can decide if they want the short or long version ...

Thanks for the tip Mathias...I do that now, I simply put a link on facebook when I want to share something of my blog... I still haven´t got much time to blog, mainly because I have so many things to do outside... farmers will understand me :-) and also because until now we didn´t have electricity to charge our computers so easy... now we have a good solar panel with 2 new batteries and we hope to get a bit more encouraged to write on blogs...
